CIJS: Millions from media contests for connected companies

On its web-site, the Center for Investigative Journalism of Serbia (CIJS) published the results of an investigation that we deem important, because it unveiled the inadequate control of granting of public funds through media contests, despite the new Law on information and the media.

The CIJS reported that the Sremska Televizija (Srem Television) and its owner, together with several newly founded production firms, obtained 30 million dinars at four contests for the financing of the media. This is almost half of the total amount granted through these contests.
