The tabloids accused NDNV for organizing the student protests in Novi Sad, after which the leadership of this journalist association received death threats. NDNV denied any involvement in organizing the protests.

“The Independent Journalist Association of Serbia and NDNV demand from the authorities to react immediately and sanction the perpetrator who used social networks to threaten the journalists. From his Facebook account, it is obvious that he is closely related to the ruling Progressive Party,” NDNV claim in their written statement.

Threats are reported to the Police and the Prosecution for high tech criminal in accordance with the Agreement on cooperation and raising the safety of journalists signed by the Police, the Prosecution, and media associations.

However, the journalist associations concluded that the Agreement has not given any results so far.

“The leadership of NDNV and its members were targeted in the past, and serious death threats were reported to the Police and the Prosecution but no one was held accountable,” NDNV concluded in the statement.
